Kravets Wehby Gallery is pleased to announce, The Full Picture, a group exhibition with work by Liv Aanrud, Drea Cofield, Chico da Silva, Asad Faulwell, Viraj Khanna, Xinyu Long, Hannah Lupton Reinhard, Erin LeAnn Mitchell, Christina Nicodema, Priscila Rooxo, Buket Savci, Olivier Souffrant, Jade Thacker, Furong Zhang, and Allison Zuckerman.

The Full Picture is a small window into the lives of the eclectic group of artists whose complex and saturated compositions are embedded with historic context and personal experience.  The works in the show are fragments of the conditions in which they were created and when in conversation, a unique, more whole perspective takes shape.  Beyond the mystique lies beauty from the complexities that comprise our shared human experience.

Each of these artists approaches the surfaces of their work as opportunities to provide opulent visual stimulation. For instance, Christina Nicodema’s luxurious paintings of cakes allure, despite being rampant with mold, rotten fruit and critters. Meanwhile, indulging in her buzzing still life, The Dream Before Death, reflects the glutton of information we’re compulsively subject to on a regular basis. Whereas Viraj Khanna’s intriguing and elaborate blending of fabric, beading, and sculptural techniques transports the viewer to a seat at the table. With his extravagant use of material, he fabricates a leisurely tone.

The Full Picture also refers to the nature of the artwork shown at Kravets Wehby Gallery: substantial, narrative, and methodical. This year, the gallery turns 30 and over the last three decades, Kravets Wehby Gallery has defined its aesthetic as boisterous and unapologetic by championing artists that get deeply personal, challenge narratives, and inspire optimism in their disciplines, especially in moments of increasing chaos and uncertainty.
