Asad Faulwell’s solo exhibition, An Unrealized Dream, will open at Kravets Wehby Gallery on Thursday, February 27, 2020, reception 6-8pm. Asad Faulwell continues Les Femmes D’Alger series with portraits of writers, politicians, educators, and freedom fighters. He contrasts his historical iconography with new abstract paintings that invite viewers to go down the rabbit hole with glimpses of reality and connections to other universes. Both the abstraction and figuration use pattern, repetition, and texture to disrupt the surface of the painting.
His work has recently been feature at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
