"Tim Tim? Bwa Sèch" is a call and response Haitians say before telling a riddle or folklore. It's similar to how American's use "Knock Knock! Who's there?" Olivier Souffrant's new body of work is an invitation for a personalized story: the longer you look the more your story unfolds.
Our connection to one another has been reduced to our digital presence, especially this past year. Our minds are bombarded with a stream of content that impacts our perception of the world. In his first solo exhibition, Olivier Souffrant's printed and painted cultural conglomerates provide a window into the complex way he sees the world. Olivier Souffrant was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and now lives and works in Chicago, IL.
